Peer Review Process
The Indian Journal of Integrative Allied Health Sciences (IJIAHS) follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, scientifically accurate, and ethically sound research. The journal is committed to maintaining transparency, academic integrity, and excellence in scholarly publishing through an unbiased and confidential review system.
All manuscripts submitted to IJIAHS undergo an initial editorial assessment conducted by the Editorial Office and the Editor-in-Chief to evaluate the manuscript’s suitability, originality, scientific relevance, ethical compliance, and adherence to the journal’s scope and author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic submission requirements, ethical standards, or formatting criteria may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected prior to peer review.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent subject experts for double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic qualifications, research experience, and subject specialization relevant to the manuscript.
During the peer-review process, reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript for scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, statistical validity, ethical standards, clarity of presentation, relevance of references, interpretation of results, and overall contribution to the field of medical and allied health sciences. Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist authors in improving the quality and scientific value of their manuscripts.
Based on the reviewers’ comments and editorial evaluation, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:
- Accept without revisions
- Accept with minor revisions
- Major revisions required
- Reject
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed point-by-point response to reviewer comments within the stipulated timeline. Revised manuscripts may undergo further review if necessary before a final editorial decision is made.
The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board. Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations, scientific merit, ethical considerations, originality, and the relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s aims and scope.
IJIAHS maintains strict confidentiality throughout the peer-review process. Manuscripts and reviewer comments are treated as confidential documents and are not disclosed to unauthorized individuals. Reviewers are expected to declare any conflicts of interest and maintain objectivity, professionalism, and ethical standards during the review process.
The journal follows the ethical principles and editorial recommendations established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any instances of plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, unethical research conduct, or authorship disputes identified during peer review or after publication will be handled according to established ethical guidelines and may result in manuscript rejection or article retraction.
The average review and editorial decision timeline may vary depending on the nature and complexity of the manuscript; however, the journal strives to ensure a timely, fair, and efficient peer-review and publication process for all submissions.
